Wait, what? Let me explain.
Every morning most everyone has a routine. Wake up, hit the bathroom, get clothes on, then start your day which is, I’m betting, very similar to every other day of the week.
The majority of people in the world have followed status quo and have a sort of linear life. We are raised, get educated get a job, maybe get a promotion or two until we are in a position or job that fits. Then stay close to that position or routine for quite some time. There is nothing wrong with this. Many live happy meaningful lives this way. There is two other types of lives. The addiction line that is very similar to the linear life but at some time there is a sharp drop off where addiction catches up to you. Or the extra ordinary life that starts with a spike up goes way down with struggles and then, if you can stick it out and be tenacious, starts a steady long term consistent rise.
Ok. But what about this respectful goo?
Without knowing the outcome, what would a cricket say to his buddy the caterpillar when the plump, happy, leaf dwelling little guy wraps himself in a coffin made out from materials out of his butt and digests itself into goo inside the sack. The cricket and all the other caterpillars would tell him “your crazy!” “Don’t do it man!” “Life is good!” “That’s not what we do here!” “Look how good we all have it!” We all know how that story ends.
The goo turns into a colourful butterfly.
The point of the story is:
WHAT GOT YOU HERE, WONT GET YOU THERE.
What that means is your skills, habits and actions that have got you where you are now in life WILL NOT be the same skills, habits and actions you will need if you truly desire a different outcome.
The more rare your goals are, not only will you have less competition but you will have more people tell you the things you are doing are crazy.
To get the extra ordinary life line toward your definition of success you will need to do things that don’t make sense to others.
Once you know your definition of success, if that if different from your life now, I guarantee the action plan you need to get there will not have the same daily habits that you are currently doing.
If you are following a method to achieve your individual personal goal, the more people that tell you “you’re crazy”, “that doesn’t make sense”, and “that’s not how we normally do it” the more you can be assured that you are on the right path.
First they all ask why, after they all ask how.
Respect the Goo.
