Picture your goals. Think about what you want in life. Your dream. See it in your head. Now imagine if there was a pill I could give you to get there that you could take every day with guaranteed results.
You want to lose weight? There is a pill for that!
You want to become a rock climber? There is a pill for that!
You want to focus better? There is a pill for that!
You want to become super wealthy in your business? There is a pill for that!
You want to stop smoking, drinking, or gambling? Guess what, there is a pill for that!
Decide what YOUR pill would do. Think about it right now.
You want a pill so you can ____________________.
Well that pill does exists! All you have to do is decide to take it, once a day and watch the results roll in!
Here’s how.
Now that you know what you want the pill to do, I want you to create, by the end of this article what your daily pill looks like. Ok, so here is the secret, you don’t need to really take a pill. Your “pill” is actually going to be a daily ritual. Something small, as small as a brief thought, that you can do every day to get those desired results. It might be an action, it might be an attitude, it might be a belief, a verbal affirmation, or just a conscious decision to have faith in yourself.
The following is a collection of beliefs and knowledge obtained through my studies of mind power. I have personally been practising the following methods, or “taking my daily pill” and it has been more than effective for me. I also believe that with a little bit of an open mind, daily practise and some small changes to your day to day it can be just as effective as taking this magic pill.
The mind is a powerful thing. The mind is directly connected to our physical self and its conditioning can affect our reality. Every day we train our mind and shape our reality consciously and subconsciously. Who we are is fundamentally made up of three things; our genes, our life experiences (our subconscious mind) and our choices (our conscious mind). Our genes we can’t change. Our conscious mind makes our choices. They shape us as we consciously make decisions to go left or right, call or not call, take the shot or not take the shot, thinking we can or thinking we cant. We can consciously choose these things everyday. Our subconscious is shaped as a result of what happens to us in life every day from personal or external influences.
For example, if we go into a gas station and try the dark coffee and hate it, the next day we go for the light coffee and like it. From there onward we choose the light coffee subconsciously every day without thinking about it. It’s just what you do. Over time the light brew is what you’re used to and you spend the rest of your life drinking light coffee. There is obviously good dark coffee out there but to try it again, you would need to make a conscious decision to try it. If you liked it somewhere else, you have now trained your subconscious that it’s ok sometimes.
My point is that our everyday conscious decisions, over time, shape our subconscious and mold our reality and who we become.
A study was done on the effectiveness of the placebo effect. Test patients were given three different pills. A placebo pill, a mild pain killer and a heavy dose of morphine. The patients that received the placebo pill were told they were given the morphine. Two thirds of them reported their pain completely disappeared. When subjects were given morphine and were told they were given a mild pain killer, half of them reported they still felt pain. In another case, subjects were given the placebo and were told this pill may cause headaches. Three quarters of them reported developing headaches! The result being, patients were more responsive to WHAT THEY BELIEVED they were receiving than what they were actually given!
What this all comes down to is:
What we choose to consciously do, to think and to believe in our everyday (our “pill”) trains our subconscious to really believe it and is directly related to our reality.
Now lets go back to our magic pill. Remember what it is you want this pill to do for you? What do you need to think in your mind to make it happen? Decide what that thought it.
“I will lose weight”
“I can learn how to rock climb”
“I will increase my focus”
“I can put down that drink/smoke/dice”
Now, you are not going to reach your personal finish line in a day. But training your mind to think this way, you will be just as effective as if I gave you a bottle that said
“Take one a day to__________”
